Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center will host an event to provide continued support for the victims of the Pulse shooting.
The Pulse Victims Fundraising Bowling Tournament will take place Saturday, July 30, at the bowling venue. Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center will also be donating the lanes used in the tournament so the event can give the maximum amount.
“The Pulse tragedy is still affecting our community,” said Keith Baldwin, regional general manager of Aloma Bowling Centers. “We’re proud to donate lanes to this worthy cause.”
All proceeds will benefit The Center, which supports the GLBT community, and they will be given in the form of gift cards that can be distributed to people who need ongoing assistance after the tragedy.
The tournament will be a doubles handicap event. It will begin at 1 p.m. Cost is $40 per person for those wishing to be eligible for tournament prizes and $25 for those wishing to simply participate.
The tournament is being organized by the SIT committee, which also puts on the Sunshine Invitational Tournament, a gay friendly bowling tournament held in May. Registration is available from noon to 1 p.m. before the tournament.
Questions about the tournament can be directed to Ray Gipson or Steve Choiniere at (407) 256-6257.
